Q. What are the benefits of using infrared radiant heating panels?
A.
- Lower heating bills!!!
33% savings over heat pumps and 52% savings over baseboard heating. Our heating panels have been proven by our customers time and time again. - Maintenance free
Our products are easy to install and eliminate your need to ever rip out a floor or replace a furnace. - Eco friendly
Reduces your energy consumption and impact on the environment. Product is made from pre and post consumer materials and provides LEED credits. - Control over heat consumption
Room-to-room installation and targeted heat allows you to provide comfort exactly where it is needed. 4-5 minute recovery time for the panels allows for rooms to become comfortable minutes later. - Design flexibility
Takes up no usable space – design options available for industrial and home. - Silent and safe
No noise is produce and no burning of household objects or skin will occur. - Reclaim uncomfortable spaces
Perfect for hard-to-heat basements, garages, workshops, boats, and more! - Personal space heater
Under-desk heaters warm cold work areas and provide personalized heat control.
Q. Doesn't heat rise?
A. Absolutely not. In fact heat itself is a form of energy that can be transferred from one object to another, (think of the sun heating the earth). Heated air rises (forced air, base board, Cadet heaters, etc.) in the presence of cooler air because it is less dense. Therefore, if we us air as a medium to transfer heat, we consume more BTU's versus infrared radiant heating, which requires less energy or to create comfort.
Q. How much do your panels cost to buy and install?
A. Typically, our material costs run between $2- $4 per square foot of heated space. Installation costs vary between new construction and retro fitting, generally ranging from $.50-$1 per square foot of heated space.
Installation costs are often less than a traditional forced air heating systems and are only 25-33% of the cost of installing in-floor radiant heating.
Q. How economical are they to operate?
A. The feedback that we hear from our customers along with documented case studies have shown that our heating panels will save over 30% compared to heat pump systems and over 50% over electric baseboards.
Q. Is electricity the most expensive way to heat a building?
A. NO! Currently, and in the past, electric heating equipment has been seen as a quick and inexpensive solution to solve heating problems. In using conventional electric heating, the expense occurs in how the heat is transferred (via air). Systems that use air will require more energy as air has little mass and needs to be replaced more frequently.
However our heating modules convert electric power into effective infrared radiant heating so efficiently that a dollars worth of electricity will produce considerably more heating comfort than a dollars worth of propane, gas, or oil.
Q. Do they work in offices and commercial buildings?
A. Yes, our panels are available in sizes that drop into a suspended ceiling and look very much like the other ceiling panels.
Q. What will the heating panels look like installed in a house?
A. Our panels are only one inch thick and are textured to look very much like a textured ceiling. They can be attached on the ceiling as an architectural feature and can be painted with a water based acrylic paint.
Q. How is the room temperature controlled?
A. Each room is separately controlled precisely as you want it with a thermostat set to the desired temperature. For example, the cooking area in the kitchen can be set lower than the dining area.
Q. Our bathroom is always cold, can they be used in there?
A. Our Comfort Centers are not only very effective and comfortable, they have a built in, quiet exhaust fan, a light, and a night-light. We use the Broan QTR Series. Step out of the shower and towel off under the warmth of our heating panels. Your tile floor will be the same temperature as the rest of the room!
